Airport Guides: Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Singapore Changi
These are the airports we pass through most, written up the way we actually use them. The Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) guide deals with the things that go wrong there: Priority Fast Track sitting at the ends of the immigration hall rather than the middle, signage that changes without warning, where to change money on Level B, and which lounge your ticket actually opens. The Singapore Changi (SIN) guide covers the terminal split for Oneworld airlines, the T1 lounges worth walking to, whether a layover leaves room for Jewel, and the MRT and taxi options into the city.
Both are guides we keep current rather than publish once and forget, because lounge contracts and fast track rules at these two airports change more often than most. Where a lounge or a transfer route matters to a flight we have reviewed, the review links back here, and the guides point at the cabin reviews for the airlines flying those routes.

How much time should I allow at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi?
Two and a half to three hours before an international departure. Immigration can run past 45 minutes at the busy periods, the early morning European and Australian waves and the evening China departures, and Fast Track does not always spare you that. Add half an hour if you are checking bags with a full service airline, and another 10 to 15 minutes if your flight leaves from the SAT-1 satellite terminal.
Is a Changi layover long enough to visit Jewel?
Only if you have more than two or three hours. Jewel sits landside, so you clear immigration to reach it and go back through security afterwards. With the time to spare it is worth doing, since the HSBC Rain Vortex is 40 metres tall and Jewel connects straight into Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
Which airports do these guides cover?
Two so far, and both are written from flying through them repeatedly rather than from an airport website.
