Business Class Flight Reviews (First-Hand, With Photos)

This is the full library of business class flights we have taken and reviewed ourselves, each one with our own cabin photos and seat-by-seat notes. Finnair fills a big part of it. Its current AirLounge seat now flies on both the A350-900 and the A330-300, and our older A330 reviews still show the 2-2-1 throne cabin it used to run. Qatar Airways sits alongside with the A380, the A350-1000 Qsuite, the 777-300, the 787-800, and even the narrow-body A320. British Airways covers the A380-800 and 787-9 Club World, and there is a 747-400 First Class flight in the mix too.

We also review the aircraft people specifically search for. The Japan Airlines 787-9 business class piece flies the Helsinki to Tokyo Haneda route (flight JL48) that a lot of people come looking for, and the Royal Jordanian 787 review covers a cabin that is genuinely hard to find honest coverage of anywhere. Each write-up sticks to what we actually experienced: the seat, the bedding, the food, the service, and whether the fare held up against the price.

Frequently asked questions

Is Japan Airlines business class good on the Helsinki to Tokyo route?

Japan Airlines flies the Boeing 787-9 between Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda with its Sky Suite business class. Our review found the seat spacious with excellent storage under the ottoman and free unlimited Wi-Fi, which is a real bonus on this long day flight. The bed surface is firm and the entertainment selection is limited, but the polished service and authentic Japanese menu make it a strong pick on the route.

What business class seat layouts do these reviews cover?

Our reviews cover the layouts you actually have to choose between. That includes 1-2-1 cabins with direct aisle access (Qatar A380 and 787, plus Finnair's AirLounge, which now flies on both its A350 and A330), the older 2-2-2 you still find on the Qatar 777-300 and JAL 787-9, and Qatar's door-equipped Qsuite. Our older Finnair A330 reviews show that fleet's former 2-2-1 throne cabin, which Finnair no longer flies. Each review names the best seats for solo travellers versus couples.

Is Royal Jordanian business class worth booking?

Royal Jordanian's 787-8 business class gives a mixed result. On our Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok flight the hard product and entertainment were genuinely good, with a comfortable lie-flat seat. The catering was the weak point, and the service felt robotic, while boarding was chaotic. The real highlight came on the ground in the First Class section of the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge, so it is a reasonable short-haul booking rather than a standout.
