The list runs through the St. Regis on Ratchadamri with its BTS station downstairs, the Waldorf Astoria and its Brasserie breakfast, the Conrad on a Hilton Diamond stay, the JW Marriott and the Marriott Sukhumvit in Thonglor, the InterContinental beside Chit Lom, and the Millennium Hilton across the river. Several were re-photographed and re-checked for 2026.

The useful comparison between them is rarely the room. It is the lounge, the breakfast, and what your loyalty status is worth on the night, which in this city can swing the value of a stay more than the rate does. So each review puts a number on it where we can: the dining credit at the Conrad, the lounge hours at the InterContinental, the noise from Nana Plaza on the east side of the JW Marriott. If you are choosing between two of these, the differences that matter are in those details rather than the marketing.

Which Bangkok hotel should I avoid if I want a central location?

The Millennium Hilton, unless you want the river. It sits across the Chao Phraya from the centre and you reach it by boat, which is charming when you have time and tiring when you do not. The rooms are dated, though the executive lounge and the ThreeSixty rooftop bar are genuinely good. The Sukhumvit and Ratchaprasong hotels are the ones to pick for BTS access.
