InterContinental Hotel Reviews (Bangkok, Hua Hin, Madrid, Miami, LA)

IHG coverage here is InterContinental coverage, since that is the brand we book, and it spans five write-ups across three continents. Bangkok is the standout for the Club InterContinental lounge and a location a minute from Chit Lom BTS, with the caveat that the main breakfast buffet gets crowded and loud. Hua Hin is the beach counterpart, a couple of hours south, with the Azure restaurant and rooms worth the drive.

In Europe and the US the picture is more mixed and the reviews say so. Madrid is a quiet classic five-star whose Club Lounge does most of the heavy lifting, with no pool and a small gym as the cost of that calm. Miami has the Biscayne Bay views and very good food at Toro Toro, undercut by tired rooms, thin walls and a daily service fee on top of the rate. Los Angeles gets a single guide covering both Downtown and Century City, because the useful question there is which of the two to book rather than what either is like on its own.
