Qatar Airways Business Class Reviews (A380, Qsuite & 777)

Our Qatar Airways coverage spans most of the fleet you can actually book out of Europe and Asia. The A380 review flies the Doha to Bangkok sector in the 1-2-1 business class cabin and covers the onboard bar, and we have now added the A380 First Class cabin on the same route for anyone comparing the two. For the flagship product, the A350-1000 Qsuite review runs Doha to Singapore and explains how the sliding doors and quad centre suites actually work in practice.

Beyond the headline aircraft, we have flown and photographed the 777-300 from Bangkok to Doha, the 787-800 and the narrow-body A320 business class from Helsinki to Doha, so the shorter connecting legs are covered too. A question we get a lot is which is the best business class from Doha to Bangkok, and having flown the A380 and the widebody fleet on that corridor ourselves, we answer it from the seat rather than the seat map. Every piece here is one of those flights, with our own cabin photos, seat notes, what the meals were like, and the lounge before boarding.

Frequently asked questions

What is Qatar Airways A380 business class like from Doha to Bangkok?

Qatar Airways flies the A380 business class on the upper deck in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout, so every seat has direct aisle access. Our Doha to Bangkok review rated the seat comfortable and the cabin quiet, with the standout being the onboard bar and lounge at the back of the upper deck. The main drawbacks were a narrow footwell and the disappointing Phitek headphones supplied at the seat.

What makes Qatar Airways Qsuite different from normal business class?

The Qsuite on the A350-1000 adds a full sliding door to each business class seat, giving privacy that ordinary business class cabins do not. Centre seats can combine into a four-person Quad for groups, while solo travellers get an enclosed suite. Our Doha to Singapore review praised the 21.5-inch screen and Dine Anytime dining, but noted the seat is firm for side-sleeping and that aircraft swaps can occasionally put an older, non-Qsuite plane on the route.

Does Qatar Airways still fly the old 2-2-2 business class?

Yes. The older Boeing 777-300 still flies with a dated 2-2-2 business class layout, which we reviewed from Bangkok to Doha. In that configuration the window seats have no direct aisle access and privacy is limited compared with the 1-2-1 cabins on the A380, 787 and Qsuite A350. Service stayed excellent with the Dine Anytime concept, but the bed surface was hard, so the aircraft type matters when you book.
