Hilton Hotel Reviews (Conrad, Waldorf Astoria & More)
Our Hilton coverage spans the group’s upper end rather than the whole portfolio, because that is where we have stayed. Bangkok has two of them: the Conrad, reviewed on a Hilton Diamond stay with the lounge and the Liu dining credit priced out, and the Waldorf Astoria, whose Brasserie breakfast is the best of any hotel we have reviewed in the city. The Millennium Hilton sits across the Chao Phraya with the ThreeSixty rooftop bar and rooms that are showing their age.
Beyond Thailand, the Hilton Singapore Orchard is the flagship of the set, the largest Hilton in Asia Pacific and the property Hilton loyalists in Singapore should default to. Las Vegas adds two more: the Waldorf Astoria, a non-gaming tower on the Strip, and Conrad and Crockfords at Resorts World, where the Diamond Reserve tier has changed how the loyalty maths works. In each case the review says what status was worth on the night, not what the brochure claims.

What does Hilton Diamond status actually get you at these hotels?
It varies more than the programme wording suggests, so we note what it delivered on each stay. At the Conrad Bangkok, Diamond brought breakfast and executive lounge access, and booking through Hilton for Luxury added a 100 USD dining credit at Liu. The Hilton Singapore Orchard recognised it well too. At the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas there was no Diamond recognition to speak of, which is worth knowing before you book on status alone.
Which Hilton property here is the best stay?
The Hilton Singapore Orchard makes the strongest all-round case. It is the largest Hilton in Asia Pacific, with botanical-styled rooms, two Michelin-starred restaurants and an executive lounge that justifies the status. The scale can feel impersonal. The Waldorf Astoria Bangkok is the one to pick for breakfast and service, and the Conrad Bangkok for the pool and the lounge value.
Is the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas different from a normal Strip hotel?
Yes, and deliberately so. It has no casino, which is the point of it: a quiet, non-gaming tower in the middle of the Strip, formerly the Mandarin Oriental. The rooms and pool deck are calm in a way the neighbours are not. The drawbacks are the elevator arrangement needed to reach the rooms and the lack of meaningful Hilton Diamond benefits.
