Marriott and St. Regis Hotel Reviews (Bangkok)

Our Marriott coverage sits entirely in Bangkok so far, across three properties in the same part of the city. The St. Regis on Ratchadamri is the luxury end, with a BTS station attached, butler service and a breakfast buffet that goes on for a while, priced above what its neighbours charge for a comparable stay. The JW Marriott on Sukhumvit is the reliable one, carried by its executive lounge and New York Steakhouse, with the east-facing rooms the ones to skip.

The Marriott Sukhumvit in Thonglor is the newest write-up of the three, refreshed for 2026, reviewed in an executive room. It is a modern five-star with a strong lounge and a rooftop bar worth going up to, held back only by rooms that are smaller than the brand usually runs. All three are stays we paid for and photographed, and each review says where the loyalty benefits changed what the night was worth.

Frequently asked questions

Which Marriott property in Bangkok has the best executive lounge?

The JW Marriott and the Marriott Sukhumvit both build their case on the lounge, and both deliver. The JW pairs it with New York Steakhouse downstairs, which is the better dinner of the two. The Marriott Sukhumvit in Thonglor pairs it with a rooftop bar that has one of the better views in the city. Rooms there are on the small side.

Is the St. Regis Bangkok worth the premium?

It is a genuinely luxurious stay, with direct BTS access, the signature butler service, high-end finishes and an extensive breakfast buffet. The catch is what sits around it: several nearby Bangkok hotels give you more for the same money. Book it for the address and the service rather than as the value pick.

Which rooms should I avoid at the JW Marriott Bangkok?

The east-facing Executive City View rooms. They are comfortable, but they face Nana Plaza and can catch the noise from it at night. The pool area is small and mostly shaded, which matters if a pool day is part of the plan, though the gym and the weekly fitness classes are a real plus.
